Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A minor was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for further attacks.
